Part Thai is private dining helmed by Chef Rishi , Le Cordon Bleu Paris-trained chef. The dishes are specially curated based on Chef’s Rishi’s memories of growing up in Bangkok.
📖 Menu
🎬 Starters
1️⃣ Fresh slices of oranges topped with relished which is made of jaggery (palm sugar) cooked with chay poh. Sweet & salty & nutty flavour. So it has a lot of umami flavours.
2️⃣ Kung Sarong
Tiger Prawns marinated with some spices wrapped with spinach egg noodles and deep fried. It’s wrapped like a sarong, so it’s Kong Sarong in Thai. Dipped in sweet plum sauce.
3️⃣ Fried pork laab with crispy sticky rice bites
🍽️ MAINS
4️⃣ Somtum Thord (crispy raw papaya salad)
5️⃣ Phuket-style pomelo salad
6️⃣ Wanton Skin Phad Thai with crab and tofu
7️⃣ Phad Krapow Khao Neow (sticky rice stir fried with basil & ribeye steak cooked medium rare and marinated with spices)
8️⃣ Son-in-law eggs
Also an interesting story about the Son-in-law eggs told by Chef Rishi:
As story goes, upon learning that her daughter wasn’t being treated well by her son-in-law, the concerned parent fried up two hard-boiled eggs as a warning. So, she serves him the deep-fried eggs to let him know that if he’s not careful, his jewels will be next in line for the deep fryer! 😂
9️⃣ Yum Khao Thord (crispy fluffy rice marinated with a few spices and topped with mango salad)
🔟 Prik Gaeng Moo (dry red curry stir fry with longbean & crackling pork & pork belly)
1️⃣1️⃣ Kaeng Geow Warn (green curry, bamboo shoot, long beans, & baby egg plants with lychee)
🍨Dessert
1️⃣2️⃣Coconut ice cream with condiments (red ruby, Thai tea jelly, coconut peanut brittle, blue pea sticky rice)
VERDICT:
Part Thai is probably one of my best private dinings I’ve had this month.
The mains are pretty interesting as it uses innovative techniques & usage of ingredients such as Wanton Skin in Phad Thai. My favourite dish was the Prik Gaeng Moo - dry red curry stir fry with longbean & crackling pork & pork belly. Definitely delicious & highly recommended!
